    New Google Maps for Android update improves battery life and more

    Google have quietly rolled out an update to their Google Maps app for Android today, and it brings along with it many improvements. The big improvement this time is the increased battery performance for those who are avid users of Latitude and Location History. Google have also rolled out a beta for their new Transit Navigation service which should be able to estimate how far your location is depending on car speed if your GPS signal ever gets disconnected. Also brought in was; fresher location tracking in Latitude, as well as an increase in route options for public transit directions.
